INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — 2025 was yet again a very active year for weather events in Indiana. Here are the Storm Track 8 top 5 weather events of 2025 for our area:

1.) April 2 tornadoes

This spring was very active compared to the average. April 2 was our big tornado outbreak of the year in terms of the number of tornadoes. Twenty-three occurred, which is tied for the FIFTH biggest outbreak on records back to 1950 in the state of Indiana.

In association with the 23 tornadoes, widespread wind damage took place with some thunderstorm gusts up to 80-90 mph.
