INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Civic leaders in Indianapolis unveiled a plan to transform a key downtown section of I‑65 and I‑70 to boost safety and connectivity.

The Southeast Gateway study proposes recessing and capping the interstate between Washington and Prospect streets and East and Shelby streets.

The transformation will create space for parks, housing, and businesses. The study also recommends creating a new “innovation corridor” along West Street that would link universities, hospitals, and tech hubs to drive economic growth.
