Trump says he has approved an emergency declaration for Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — President Donald Trump has approved an emergency declaration for Indiana, among other states.

An emergency declaration is an official action by a government leader that formally recognizes a crisis, such as a natural disaster and/or public health threat, and authorizes the immediate use of specialized powers and resources.

On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump posted the following message Saturday:

“I have just approved Emergency Declarations for Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Indiana, and West Virginia. We are working closely with FEMA, Governors, and State Emergency Management teams to ensure the safety of everybody. Stay Safe, and Stay Warm!”
