Union City School secretary accused of inappropriate relationship with 17-year-old student

UNION CITY, Ind. (WISH) — Union City Police announced in a Facebook post Saturday that they have arrested 31-year-old Alicia Hughes, a secretary from Union City Jr./Sr High School on five counts of child seduction.

Investigators were originally notified of a battery that occurred overnight. Police say that Hughes’ husband had discovered Hughes with an 18-year-old student of Randolph Eastern School Corporation and confronted them both.

Investigators say that Hughes was battered during that incident and are investigating that event as well.

During that investigation, Union City Police department discovered evidence that Hughes was engaged in a sexual relationship with a different 17-year-old student. Investigators say that Hughes and the minor engaged in sexual intercourse at least five times.

Hughes was transported to the Randolph County Jail, where she is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
