Unlocking Albany's history: Digging up Erie Canal Lock 1

A piece of Albany’s history hidden underground for nearly 100 years was uncovered on Thursday. Archaeologists are excavating the original Erie Canal Lock 1, the starting point of the canal when it opened in 1825.
