Authorities this week identified three men who died last weekend in county traffic collisions.
Two of the roadway fatalities occurred Sunday, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
At about 9:15 p.m. that day, Fernando Herrera, 39, of San Diego lost control of the motorcycle he was riding on Viejas Boulevard in Descanso, sending the bike veering off the roadway and into a fence at Merigan Fire Road, the county agency reported. Herrera died at the scene.
A state park ranger was chasing Herrera at the time of the crash, officials said. The reason for the pursuit has not been released.
That same day, Quincey Ockletree, 20, of San Marcos collided with several vehicles while driving to the north on Interstate 15 north of state Route 76 in Fallbrook, according to the county agency, which did not give a time for the crash.
Paramedics took Ockletree to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he died the next morning.
On Saturday, a collision on a street near Sweetwater Reservoir mortally injured David Blaisdell, 76, of San Diego. He was riding in a sedan that crashed into an SUV on Jamacha Boulevard at Pointe Parkway in La Presa shortly before 7:30 a.m., the medical examiner reported.
An ambulance took Blaisdell to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
