Vista to ask public for feedback on proposed new city logo

The Vista City Council plans to ask for the public’s help with selecting a new logo that will soon appear on everything from websites and signage to clothing and business cards.

The councilmembers voted unanimously Tuesday to share three designs with the community to ask which one the community prefers and gather comments. The online survey is open through March 15.

The logos are part of a larger branding package the city plans to roll out soon. It will not replace the city seal, which has been used since the city incorporated in 1963.

In October, the council asked the graphic designer to come back with more options after being presented with a single proposed logo. City staff members and the designer met with each council member in late 2025 to review the branding package and gather feedback that was used to create the three current options.

City staff members say a new logo is needed that is more modern and better suited for a variety of digital and print media. The current city logo was approved in 2004.

“As the City has grown and evolved, so, too, has the need for a refreshed visual identity that reflects Vista’ s modern character, values, and aspirations,” City Manager Imelda Huerta told the council.
