Wild horse, burro roundups begin in near Las Vegas, at 3 other sites across Nevada

Wild horses and burros — about 425 of each — will be gathered in three areas of the Spring Mountains just northwest of Las Vegas. It's just one of four roundups statewide that will take an estimated 2,305 horses off ranges.
