Woman critically injured in shooting on Meadow Bend Lane

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman was critically injured in a shooting on the city’s southeast side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Around 2:19 p.m. Sunday, IMPD officers responded to the 8100 block of Meadow Bend Lane on a report of a person shot. That is a residential area on the city’s southeast side. Officers arrived and found a woman with gunshot wounds.

The woman was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe this incident started as a family disturbance. A vehicle fled the scene and a person of interest (man) was detained at the scene. Investigators said this is an isolated incident.

Investigators did not immediately provide any additional information on this incident.
