Woman dead in southeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman critically injured in a south side shooting early Saturday morning died after arriving at a hospital, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Online police reports show the shooting took place around 6:50 a.m. in the 200 block of East Troy Street just off South Meridian Street.

IMPD officers were called to the scene to investigate a person shot. There, they found the woman suffering a gunshot wound. She was rushed to a hospital, where she died shortly after arrival.

IMPD has not said what led up to the shooting or if there are any suspects.

A public information officer was expected to release more information once available.
