INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman is dead after she was struck by a vehicle on the city’s south side on Saturday, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
At 8:21 p.m. Saturday, IMPD Southeast District officers responded to a report of a personal injury accident near the area of Madison Avenue and East Raymond Street. Officers arrived and found a woman who had been struck by a vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle, a man, remained on scene and was cooperative with investigators.
The woman was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. On Monday, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the striking vehicle was transported to an area hospital for a blood draw after showing no signs of impairment.
The IMPD fatal crash investigation team will continue to investigate this incident.
