DENVER (KDVR) -- More than 150 volunteers hit the streets Saturday to touch up and paint ten homes across the Denver metro.

The free program, offered through Paint-A-Thon, was organized by Brothers Redevelopment. The nonprofit helps seniors and or disabled homeowners who are unable to do the job themselves.

“Got out here around 8 this morning and got organized," said Taylor Kearny, PCL Construction Manager of Special Projects Division.

He was one of the many volunteers who helped give a home in Westminster a refresh.

“It’s an instant gratification when it comes to helping your community and you get a real reward out of it," he said.

On Saturday, volunteers were at Erma White's Denver home painting. Typically a job like this would cost thousands of dollars.

“Everything is expensive now," said White.

Painting her home is something she has wanted to do for the last three years, and without Brothers Redevelopment she's not sure if she would have ever got around to it.

“I’m sure I wouldn’t have so I appreciate them doing it," she said.
