RICHMOND, Ind. (WISH) — A 13-year-old is dead and four others were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Wayne County early Saturday morning, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

At 2:33 a.m. Saturday, Wayne County 911 received a report of a vehicle that had run off the roadway and struck trees. The vehicle reportedly had multiple occupants inside. Wayne County deputies arrived and located a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox off the north side of the roadway after it left the roadway and collided with trees.

Investigators believe the Equinox was traveling northbound on State Line Road and failed to completely negotiate the curve as the roadway transitions to Greenmount Pike. The vehicle then slid off the north side of the roadway before...
