BEAR LAKE COUNTY, Idaho (ABC4) -- A 13-year-old girl who was missing on the East Shore of Bear Lake in Idaho was declared dead after being recovered from the water Saturday night.
According to a press release from the Bear Lake County Sheriff's Office, calls first came in regarding the missing girl just before 6 p.m. on Saturday.
"Marine Deputies and boats were in the area within minutes and began searching," the sheriff's office said in the release. "The female was located and immediately turned over to medical personnel."
The release did not say what time the girl was found, but she was pronounced dead at 9 p.m. Officials have not released the identity of the girl to allow family members time to make personal notifications.
The Bear Lake County Sheriff's Office used the incident to remind people to use life jackets when participating in water-related activities.
