PAYSON, Utah (ABC4) -- A young mother and her infant son died following a fatal crash in an area just west of Payson and north of Santaquin early Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened just before 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 6. The unidentified 20-year-old woman was driving north on 5600 West and approaching 12000 South at the time of the crash. Her one-year-old son was a passenger in the car.

According to Cannon, the woman was driving at "speeds in excess of the speed limit." When she approached a T-intersection, she was reportedly unable to stop in time.
