CRANE COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- A crash in Crane County involving four vehicles resulted in the death of one man and another in the hospital reportedly in "serious condition."
According to the crash report, on Tuesday morning, July 30, around 9:25 a.m., drivers along IH-20 near mile marker 9 in Crane County were at a standstill, including one vehicle with a towed trailer that was traveling westbound in the inside lane of IH-20, followed by a 49-year-old driver Sean Guy Morris from Gardendale.
According to the report, Moris- who was waiting at a standstill behind the driver with the towed trailer, was rear-ended by 32-year-old driver Colton Lane Gerrel from Snyder Texas, causing the collision to force Morri’s vehicle into the towed trailer.
Crash reports showed that after Gerrel rear-ended Morris, continued into the outside lane, where he was then struck by another driver.
Texas Highway Patrol pronounced Sean Guy Morris dead at the scene, while Colton Lane Gerrel was reported to have been transported to Odessa Medical Center Hospital and was said to be in serious condition.
This crash remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
