NEW YORK (PIX11) – A 73-year-old man was assaulted while he was walking around the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea on Friday morning, police said.
Officers from the 13th precinct responded to a 911 call for an assault on Seventh Avenue and 23 Street. The incident occurred at 9 a.m. Police say the 73-year-old victim had been walking when he was approached by an unknown individual who slapped him in the face.
The victim was left with a laceration to his lip. The assailant then fled West to the train station on 23rd Street and Seventh Avenue to parts unknown, authorities said.
The victim was taken to Lenox Health Greenwich Village, where he was treated for his injuries.
No arrests have been made. An investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
