A church in a bar has a new home

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - A Sioux Falls ministry known for being a church in a bar will soon have a new home.

Since 2021, the Table Ministry has hosted worship services at Shenanigans in Sioux Falls. But this week the church announced it's moving out of the bar.

"We had the opportunity to partner with the Military Alliance and bring a spiritual presence to their campus and they were able to give us this space to call home, so here we are," Erica Varcoe, pastor of the Table Ministry, said.

That space is in the old AAA building just two doors down from the Military Heritage Alliance.

"We want this to be a safe place for everybody. For veterans, for the community. You don't have to be associated with the military to come to the Alliance," Nicole Ryan with the SD Military Heritage Alliance, said. "A lot of people think you have to be and you do not have to be. So it's going to be great to have a pastor on-call, 24/7 for anybody who would need the services here."

The new building gives the Table Ministry not only more room for worship and fellowship, but there's also an area for the kids.
