A treat for a cause

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) —Thursday is miracle treat day and for every blizzard that you buy a portion of the money will go to the Children's Miracle Network.

Ice cream lovers of all ages stopped by Dairy Queen to help benefit children in local hospitals.

"It's Miracle Treat Day, which benefits Children's Miracle Network locally. And we believe in the Children's Miracle Network because they helped us. But we also saw the other families that were helped when Isabella was going through treatment at the castle," said Anne Halme.

For one person that meant picking up 75 blizzards for her workplace.

"It's fun. I feel like even though you're 75, it's such a small fish in a big pond. I want to do as much as we possibly can, but I mean, we always want to do more. Just every little bit helps. Yes," said Abby Lynn.

This event is a way to raise money for a program that means so much to so many.

"A lot of emotional support. And they became like a family to us. They guided us. She was five months old when she started treatment, a year old when she started chemo And they were just right there. There, still right there," Anne Halme<...
