Alexander Mountain Fire now nearly as large as Horsetooth Reservoir

DENVER (KDVR) - Within less than 24 hours, the Alexander Mountain Fire started before noon on Monday in the mountains west of Sylvan Dale Ranch and has reached over 1,800 acres in northern Colorado.

As of Monday night, the wildfire west of Loveland grew to about 950 acres. In comparison, a football field is about 1.32 acres. The wildfire damage on Monday night totaled about 719 football fields.
