ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - Amazon Video recently released the third season of its "The Story of Art in America" documentary series.
Episode five shines a spotlight on Odessa, Texas and it's "vibrant arts scene" and features four local artists who made significant contributions to their respective fields.
The episode includes local Chef Alejandro Barrientos and Curbside Bistro, following his win of the 2023 season of "Chopped;" Amy Kim, an art teacher at UTPB and Director of the Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery; as well as Edgar Salazar, co-owner of local landscaping company the Black Tulip.
The episode continues with printmaker Mariane Astete, an Odessa artist who moved from South America in her childhood, before concluding with a mini public art tour led by Randy Ham, the Executive Director of Odessa Arts.
