ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) — Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton says clarity will come with time at the quarterback position. On Tuesday, that appeared to come closer in focus.
Since the start of offseason work in May, the Broncos quarterbacks have rotated snaps. That ended on the second day of padded practice when Zach Wilson saw Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham receive the majority of the work.
“We have a plan,” Payton explained after practice. “(Monday) Nix ran with the ones, Wilson with the twos. (Tuesday) Stidham was with the ones, so no news to announce."
Payton was asked to clarify the rotation going forward concerning Wilson’s time with the first team and responded: "We’ll see."
Six practices into training camp, Payton knows the time is approaching to streamline the snaps at quarterback. The Broncos will open the preseason on the road at Indianapolis on Aug. 11.
