Arkansas medical marijuana sales down $5.5 million since 2023, DFA says

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Medical marijuana sales in Arkansas in 2024 are down nearly 4% from last year's sales, according to Scott Hardin with the Department of Finance and Administration.

Hardin said between January 1 and June 30, medical marijuana sales were at $135.5 million. In 2023, sales were at $141 million in the same time frame, a decrease of $5.5 million year-to-year.

2023 was the largest year for medical marijuana sales at $283 million.

The state collected a total of $7.9 million in tax revenue from sales between April and June and since the industry launched in 2019, $136 million in tax revenue has been collected.

The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission is set to meet on July 11 to discuss ownership transfers for multiple dispensaries including the Good Day Farm, Enlightened Heber Springs, Good Day Farm Hensley and Dark Horse Medicinals.
