LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas politicians quickly reacted after the Democrat vice presidential running mate was announced Tuesday morning.
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris announced Tuesday that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz would join her on the ticket as candidate for vice president. Reactions to the announcement among Arkansas political activists fell along party lines.
Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders posted a concise take on the nomination to social media shortly after it was announced.
“In her first big decision Kamala reveals who she answers to — the left,” Sanders said.
The often-outspoken Republican Sen. Tom Cotton took a firm stand using two points to oppose the Harris pick.
“First, Tim Walz let a bunch of violent BLM rioters burn Minneapolis to the ground in 2020. Kamala Harris raised money to bail them out,” Cotton said. “If you think letting violent criminals walk free is a good thing, this is the ticket for you.”
