DREW COUNTY, Ark. – Arkansas State Police officials said an arrest has been made in connection to the killing of two people in Drew County in December of 2023
Investigators said Wednesday that 25-year-old Taiwan Collins Jr. was arrested Tuesday in connection with the deaths of 25-year-old Suquorey Pitts Jr. and 21-year-old Independence Young.
On Dec. 3, 2023, deputies with the Drew County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. When they arrived at the old Wilmar School on North 5th Street, the deputies said they found two men, later identified as Pitts and Young, dead.
Authorities said Pitts was found in the front passenger seat of a car parked in the school’s driveway and Young was found lying on North 5th Street.
State police officials said their Criminal Investigation Division then began investigating the homicides.
On Tuesday, July 30, officials said troopers arrested Collins after identifying him as a passenger in a black Dodge Charger that was stopped for a traffic violation around 7:25 p.m. at the intersection of Highways 56 and 82 in Lake Village.
