MCGEHEE, Ark. – The Arkansas State Police are investigating a double homicide they said occurred in McGehee overnight.
In a Friday release, authorities said McGehee Police Department officers were dispatched to a 911 call referencing shots being fired near Cypress and 3rd Streets at 12:36 a.m. on Friday.
When they arrived, officers said they found a man who had been shot lying beside 3rd Street. ASP Special Agents said they found another man in a nearby wooded area who had been shot. Officials said both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said MPD officials requested that the ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division investigate the case.
The release stated that the two bodies were taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the manner and cause of death.
