Arkansas State Police seize more than 345 pounds of illegal marijuana in Franklin County traffic stops

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ark. – Arkansas State Police said that state troopers seized more than 345 pounds of illegal marijuana between two separate traffic stops in Franklin County.

According to ASP officials, a state trooper conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 40 just after 8:15 a.m. Monday. Authorities said that seven large trash bags of 145 pounds of illegal marijuana were found in the truck bed.

State troopers arrested the driver, 34-year-old Steven McGee of Kansas. He was taken to the Franklin County Detention Center, where he is facing felony charges of possession with intent to deliver and drug paraphernalia.

On Thursday, July 25, special agents stopped a truck on I-40 for a traffic violation. Authorities said they searched the vehicle and found seven large trash bags of 202 pounds of illegal marijuana in the truck bed.
