Atmore Police Department gets new K-9 officers

ATMORE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Atmore Police Department gained two new officers this week — two K-9 officers!

According to an APD Facebook post, the department's Canine Project would not be possible without the outpouring of support and donations.

"So far funds from the donation project have been used to purchase vehicle transportation equipment for the canines, Heat and Safety Alert systems, and much more!" the post said.

Two K-9s are now training with their handlers, and they will soon be deployed in Atmore.
