DENVER (KDVR) — A 70-year-old from Aurora was sentenced to serve 30 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to one count of dealing a firearm without a license, but was facing two federal charges before the plea agreement.
According to documents filed with the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, Timothy Taconi, 70, was sentenced to serve 30 months in the Department of Corrections. The incarceration will be followed by three years of supervised release.
Taconi pleaded guilty to the single count of dealing a firearm without a license, a felony. He also voluntarily agreed to pay over $190,000 in restitution for the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan payments he received for what the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado called an "illegal firearms business."
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Taconi had been selling firearms between August 2020 and February 2023 but was not a licensed dealer. The U.S. Attorney's Office said Taconi also admitted to selling unregistered silencers...
