Authorities investigate police shooting in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The Chula Vista Police Department said authorities are investigating a police shooting that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The incident took place around 1:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Marina Parkway. Police said H Street is shutdown for the investigation, which could take several hours.

The shooting, which involved one suspect and one officer, resulted in the injury of the suspect. That individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The nature of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The San Diego Police Department has been called in to take over the investigation. No further details were immediately released.
