Authorities search for missing swimmer off Coronado Ferry Landing

CORONADO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The search is on for missing swimmer in the area of Coronado Ferry Landing, police said Sunday.

Around 1 p.m., the Coronado Police Department reported that a helicopter could be overheard at the north end of the city, seemingly searching for an individual in the water.

FOX 5/KUSI responded to the area around 2:30 p.m. and could see police searching the area. An empty stretcher was also seen on shore near Coronado Ferry Landing.
