Bargain market, Grocery Outlet, signs lease for Pacific Beach storefront

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Attention bargain shoppers: It's looking like a brand-new Grocery Outlet is on its way to Pacific Beach.

In a press release, real estate firm Intersection announced its brokers had aided in the negotiations of a $3.7 million lease for the grocery store at the 12,365-square-foot space on Garnet Avenue that previously housed the neighborhood's Crunch Fitness.

“We are gratified to have completed this agreement with Grocery Outlet, whose tenancy will undoubtedly enhance both the asset and the Pacific Beach community,” Alec Spencer, senior associate at Intersection, said in a statement.

The space, which is located at 1211 Garnet Ave., closed permanently back in January 2023. According to Instagram posts from the gym at the time, it seemed to come after a week-long, impromptu closure during the early days of the year.
