INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Dangerous heat settles in starting tomorrow and will persist through the week. News 8 spoke with experts who shared simple steps to stay safe and cool.

Leaders with the Madison Township Fire Department urge people who must be outdoors to hydrate often with water or electrolyte drinks and to take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning. The American Red Cross advises avoiding caffeine and alcohol, which can worsen dehydration.
