Benton woman arrested for allegedly attempting to hit teen with vehicle at Home Depot

BENTON, Ark.- Benton police say they have arrested a woman after a Friday night incident escalated into attempted murder.

According to investigators, officers responded to a private property crash at the Benton Home Depot around 6:45 p.m. Friday. Officers said the incident involved several juveniles and an unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot.

Investigators said while officers were taking statements from the teens involved, the owner of the struck vehicle attempted to run over the juvenile driver.

Officers said they then arrested 24-year-old Daisha McCuin of Benton. McCuin is now facing a first-degree attempted murder charge, four counts of aggravated assault, first-degree battery, endangering the welfare of a minor and reckless driving.

Investigators said the minor was transported to a nearby hospital, where their condition was listed as stable.
