A 60-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Rancho Peñasquitos Wednesday evening, authorities said.
The fatal collision happened around 5:35 p.m. when the driver of a northbound Toyota Camry collided with the rear tire of the bicycle on Salmon River Road near Limar Way, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Police said the driver, a 51-year-old woman, told investigators that she did not see the bicyclist. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name has not been released.
Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision, police said, but officers were investigating.
