INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Fever is getting ready for its upcoming season.
In fact, the team held its first practice of training camp on Sunday morning.
The training camp practice also marked the first official practice that guard Caitlin Clark has participated in with the Fever since last year.
“More than anything, just really excited,” Clark said. “I feel really healthy and feel like I’ve put myself in a position to be as healthy as I can be to start the season.”
Clark is hoping to have an injury-free 2026 season, which would be a big change from last year. During the 2025 season, Clark dealt with various injuries, including a groin injury and a bone bruise in her left ankle.
“I’ve never really sat on the sidelines before, so it’s a very humbling experience,” Clark said. “And it gives me good perspective on how to be a great teammate.”
Clark played in only 13 games for the Fever last year, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game. She was eventually ruled out for the season in early September.
