NEW CASTLE, Ind. (WISH) — A bicyclist died in New Castle after falling into a large hole in the road left by severe flooding in New Castle, police said.
Police said sometime after midnight Saturday, James Briar, 31, of New Castle allegedly road his bike past safety barricades near the intersection of Crescent Drive and Riley Road. The road there collapsed from severe flooding.
Police said Briar fell into the hole left by the collapse and died.
