BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- Blair County will be participating in the 40th annual Night Out Against Crime.
The event will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6-9 p.m. at the Duncansville Antique Depot. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will run from Napa to the Depot parking lot. At 9 p.m. fireworks will be set off.
The purpose of the event is to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Generate support for and participate in local anticrime efforts
- Awareness and prevention for drug and alcohol epidemics
- Strengthen community spirit and law enforcement partnerships
- Send a message to criminals, letting them know neighborhoods are organized and "fighting back"
There will be a free prize giveaway during the event with no charge to the community. The event will also be hosting a car show, with anyone being invited to participate. Registration, free of charge, will begin at 5:15 p.m. in front of the Antique Depot.
