LEBANON, Ind. (WISH) — Multiple agencies across Boone County are coordinating their response to Saturday’s snowstorm in case there’s a widespread need for shelters.
The Boone County Commissioners Office said it’s monitoring conditions, along with Boone County Emergency Management, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, and the Salvation Army of Boone County, in case there’s a need to provide temporary shelter.
People in need of assistance, or trying to find help for someone, can call the Boone County Communications Center at 765-482-1412 and press option 4 to be connected with available services.
Boone County Communications Director Brent Wheat told News 8 there are no weather shelters opened at the moment, but plans are being made in case there’s widespread demand because of power outages or people without a home.
“We’re trying to stay ahead of this,” Wheat said.
Boone County is under a travel advisory, meaning routine travel or activities may be restricted.
