Borrego Springs breaks several records amid heat wave

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- “Well, brutal is a very good word for it." That's how Annie Collyer, a 20-year-resident of Borrego Springs, would describe the recent record-breaking heat in parts of San Diego County.

“I can take it well up to 110, but this is way too much," she added.

By "too much," she means the new daily record set Monday of 121 degrees, shattering the previous record for July 8, which was 117 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, Borrego Springs set a record on Friday and Saturday as well.
