LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The busy Markham and Bowman intersection in Little Rock is facing what's said to be the city's worst damage from Monday night's storm.
A sinkhole right off the road is resulting in potential closed lanes and detours for up to several weeks while crews work to get it fixed.
In addition to drivers facing slower traffic than normal along Bowman due to the lane closures and detours, nearby businesses said that the blocked traffic also put a damper on their sales.
Employees in the Bowman Curve Shopping Center said they had trouble figuring out how to come in to work before a lane was finally opened leading into the parking lot. But even more frustrating for some, now, is the lack of customers coming in because of the inconvenience.
"Little Rock -- when they see something going on like that, they take a U-turn and they go the other direction,” Rock City Kicks general manager Broderick Bozeman said. “They figure everyone's closed.”
Bozeman was one of the few stores FOX 16 News went into that still had not seen any customers come in yet around lunchtime on Tuesday. All said ...
