Breakdancer from Chula Vista to make Paris Olympics debut

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- As breakdancing, also known as breaking, makes its debut at the Paris Olympics Friday, a competitor from San Diego County is preparing to earn a spot on the podium.

Team USA's Logan Edra, 21, was born in Chula Vista and started breaking at the age of seven. She is one of four athletes who will represent Team USA on the world stage during the breaking competitions.

Breaking takes place this weekend in Paris, with B-Girls scheduled for events on Friday and B-Boys set to compete on Saturday.

How breaking scoring works in the Olympics

Known professionally by her B-Girl name, Logistx, Edra already has a few accolades under her belt.

It was her father who gave Edra her B-Girl name and introduced her to the sport, guiding her to develop her craft by enrolling her in dance and artistic gymnastics lessons, according to an interview on the official Olympics website.
