According to a news release from the USDOJ, United States District Court Judge Kristi K. DuBose sentenced Michael Anthony Woods II on Friday, Aug. 2, to 60 months in prison.

Brewton police officers executed an active warrant for Woods' arrest on May 1, 2023, in which he ran from officers, was captured and then arrested.

According to the USDOJ release, officers saw drugs through the windshield of a Dodge Charger Scat Pack, which Woods reportedly had retrieved something from just before his arrest.

"A later full search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a total of approximately 608 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine," the USDOJ release said. "The powder cocaine was still in the form of what was left of a kilogram brick."
