ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) -- Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton likes competition. But he also likes clarity.
At the end of the first week of training camp, the second-year head coach said he was pleased with the quarterback play.
“The rotation has been pretty consistent and I think that will change a little bit as we get in the next week-and-a-half of camp,” Payton said after practice Saturday.
First-round pick Bo Nix understands competition, as he faced that in high school and college play at Auburn and Oregon.
“You learn a lot out there each play, and that's just my focus right now,” Nix explained as he continued to impress the coaching staff. “From a standpoint of the playbook and the verbiage, understanding the operation and the process that goes with them, calling a play and getting to the line of scrimmage and making sure everybody's ready to make the play work.”
