Bronx bus rider, 17, slashed in hand and neck with box cutter on BX12: NYPD

THE BRONX — A routine evening ride turned violent when a 17-year-old boy was slashed in the hand and neck by a stranger wielding a box cutter aboard a BX12 MTA bus, officials said.

The attack happened around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday as the bus approached Valentine Avenue and East Fordham Road, according to NYPD Crimestoppers.

The suspect allegedly pulled out a box cutter and slashed the teen before exiting the bus and fleeing on foot to parts unknown.

No description of the attacker has been released, and it remains unclear what led up to the incident.

The teen’s condition has not been disclosed.
