Brush fire breaks out in rural East County

JAMUL, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A brush fire broke out Wednesday east of Jamul.

The fire, dubbed as the "Sloane Fire," occurred on Sloane Canyon Road, Cal Fire San Diego posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, at 5:01 p.m.

SkyFOX/KUSI is over the location where a big cloud of white smoke and flames could be seen burning the brush.

The fire was seven acres as of 4:50 p.m., Cal Fire said, warning that it had the potential to spread to 100 acres.

There is currently no threat to structures, according to fire officials.
