Bryce Hoppel heads to Olympic finals, City of Midland to host watch party

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Native Midlander Bryce Hoppel is headed to the Olympic Finals for the first time in his career after a second-place finish in the Men's 800-meter semi-final.

Hoppel, the reigning indoor world champion who will now represent Team USA in the Olympic 800-meter finals, completed his second-place finish with a time of one minute and 43 seconds (1:43:41).

The Olympic final and Hoppels run for gold will start at noon, on Saturday, August 10. In support of Hoppel, the City of Midland and Midland RockHounds invited all supporters to the Diamond Club at Momentum Bank Ballpark for a Hoppel Watch Party.
