BSO deputy surrenders after being accused of domestic abuse

A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy is behind bars after he was accused of domestic abuse.

Isaiah Williams surrendered to authorities in Miramar on Monday afternoon.

According to Miramar Police, Williams punched his fiancé several times in the face after she was dropped off at their home by a male friend early Monday morning and tried to strangle her neck following an argument.

His fiancé pulled out a gun to defend herself but police said Williams grabbed it out of her hand and hid it, according to police.

BSO said he has been placed on administrative leave without pay.

He faces several charges, including Simple Battery, Domestic Battery by Strangulation, Robbery by Sudden Snatching with a Firearm and Tamper/Alter Evidence.
