PARIS (ABC4) -- Just a year after overcoming a fall to win the National Championship in the 3000m steeplechase, BYU alumni Kenneth Rooks is now an Olympic silver medalist.
At the Stade de France in the heart of Paris, Kenneth Rooks put in a personal best time of 8:06.41 to win the silver medal in the 3000m steeplechase event. Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco took gold with a .36-second lead.
This was Rooks' Olympic debut.
