Cape May Firefighters Respond to Attic Fire on Maryland Avenue

CAPE MAY, NJ—Early Sunday morning, just after 8:30 AM, Cape May firefighters, along with mutual aid from several local agencies, were dispatched to a reported smoke condition inside a home in the 1100 block of Maryland Avenue. Upon arrival, the responding teams discovered a fire located in the attic space of the structure.

Firefighting crews quickly extinguished the fire, ventilated the building, and performed thorough searches to ensure no one was at risk. The first alarm response included units from West Cape May Volunteer Fire Company, Erma Volunteer Fire, the U.S. Coast Guard Training Facility in Cape May, and Wildwood Crest EMS.
